The concept of hospitality is not hard to understand. You invite some people over, you share a meal, you talk, you get to know each other better, but I think it goes a lot deeper than that. I think our creator has put within us a desire, a deep and a strong desire to know other people deeply and a desire to be known as well. I think that’s what he does for us. A tiny little lady many years ago told my wife and I a story. She was an unbelievable giver of hospitality. It was her gift. And she said she had these couple families over and she overheard one of the husbands telling the wife, asking the wife as they left, “Have you ever experienced anything like that? ” I think we all long for that. I know I do. To be known on a deep level and to be in a place of genuine and safe and deep and rich communication, it is just a magnificent experience.
That’s what God does for us. He invites us into that type of experience and community inside his own spirit. I dare you to find someone and go to that deeper level of hospitality. I
